HAPPY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Next time you hear from me, I will be a senior. Life is crazy.
But let's talk about my final project. (Sadly.)
I had a script written, and it was a girl who was trapped in a house, going crazy, thinking people were watching her. She talks to a therapist, who says she is mentally insane, but the last shot is her being recorded on a camera (like high up; a security camera) talking to the therapist, then trying to run away. I had this all planned out two weeks ago, and I checked out equipment to use one of my friends in the film.
She kept on pushing it off, filming only minimal stuff that wouldn't leave me much time. And finally, we agreed on a date, but she canceled, so I had no video.
I freaked out, had maybe three-and-a-half heart attacks, and then composed myself. I wrote a new script in about 30 minutes (not my best work), and grabbed my brother to start filming.
He was great. He was so cooperative, and his acting skills may have been sub-par, but he did everything I asked him to, and that's all I needed. Filming took a total of maybe 2 hours, and I threw it all together in even less time. The story ended up being about a boy who sees a picture who looks like him, and he asks his mom if he has a twin. (She says no.) Then he does research to find where this kid lives and goes to find him, but gets no response. In the end they eventually meet in a park. (How cliché.)
It's not my best work, but I do actually want to finish my crazy-girl film in the summer because I really like the way it was started. So if I get around to that, maybe you'll see not just one 19-shot film, but two. (And hopefully the second one is better than the last.)
